A visit to the Ingall Family home gave us the story behind the books, as well as the history of westward expansion, feminism, libertarian ideology, and indigenous people.
"Mindelynn organized a bookish ‘Gilded Age’ weekend for a book club of mine. Everything she planned was on point. We learned so much about the time period while having so much fun. The walking tour, accommodations, bookshops, and cocktails made for such great memories."
– Wendy Oleksiak
Hi! I’m Mindelynn.
I plan literary experiences for authors so they can develop relationships with readers and increase their audience.
My love for literary travel began on a college study abroad trip in 1999 when I visited C. S. Lewis’s home, The Kilns, in England. Since then I’ve traveled the world to see the places where great (and small!) novels take place.
Now, I’m combining my love of reading and my background in event planning to help authors create unique literary events, retreats, and excursions that go beyond the pages of their book.
From the coast of Maine to Gilded Age New York, from Louisa May Alcott to Bridget Jones, I’ve planned out one-of-a-kind literary excursions and retreats that make books come to life.

"The Louisa May Alcott Birthday Celebration that Mindelynn organized to celebrate my book The Orchard House introduced my work to an entirely new audience. She created a one-of-a-kind, unforgettable, personalized event! It was such a fun evening and I'm so thrilled that many in attendance are now some of my most loyal readers."
– Heidi Chiavaroli, Two-Time Carol Award-Winning Author of The Orchard House

FAQ
-
A. We work with authors to create unique and engaging events for their readers — a themed event at a unique location, a one-day tour around the sites in your book, or a multi-day reader retreat. We’ll work with you on the best idea, and then do the planning, logistics, and booking for you. Simply let your readers know and build interest, then just show up! We call these “co-events” because authors and readers participate in the event together.
-
A. Once you reach out, we’ll schedule an initial call to talk through ideas, options, and pricing. We would then create a proposal for you. Once you sign off, we’ll plan the event: book the venue(s), plan the logistics, and partner with whoever we need to partner with. Since you know your audience the best and already have connections with them, you’ll market your event to them (and we’ll provide you with marketing assets to do so!). We’ll also market the event as well. Then, simply show up and enjoy connecting with your readers!
-
A. Yes! It’s hard enough as a debut author to make an impact around your book launch — especially when more marketing responsibilities are being put on your shoulders. Hosting a unique literary event can help you stand out and connect with new readers.
-
A. While we do some of the marketing for the event, the authors we work with will be the ones to get the word out to their readers through social media, a newsletter, on their website, or through other channels. We do provide some marketing support as well to help you out! Simply direct readers to our event page where they can sign up.
-
A. Absolutely! We help you think outside of the box — or the bookstore! — when it comes to planning an event in your area. It could be an event at a unique venue related to your book, or, if your book takes place in your location, a walking tour of sites found in your pages.
-
A. Not unless you want to! We plan our author trips so that both authors and readers have time on their own to explore the area, and then come together at specific events to connect.
